Sulking Tiger, Teenage Problems [Open-ish action]

And he didn't waste any time trying to figure out what her problem was, already trying to get to the bottom of things before he'd even properly landed]
You mind telling me what exactly's going on?
If you want to yell at me, fine, but it'd be nice if you were at least considerate enough to make some sense while doing it!
[...okay in his defense, he'd calmed down a bit, not a whole lot.]

[No she doesn't. What she wants is for him to be the version she'd managed to connect so well with last year. But she's in no mood to admit that.]

[Something he might, might have had a shot at doing if he knew literally anything about reading other people.]
I don't know what kind of powers the Spidey you're used to picked up, but telepathy definitely isn't one of mine.
no subject
So just butt off.

You're even less friendly than usual, and since I don't see a big splinter sticking out of your paw I'm kinda at a loss for what it is.
[Hey if it were that easy to get rid of him, New York would have been overrun with supervillains months ago]

[She has to snap herself back to reality. Attacking Spider-Man is going too far, even if she has no intention of hurting him. She's losing control of the tiger's aggression and she needs to reign in it.]
[One deep breath and the anger's gone. She's not any less upset, though, so she just collapses onto the ground and deliberately looking anywhere but at Pete.] Go away.
no subject
Well, sort of relaxes. He's still very much riled up about how the whole situation is going, and especially at how he cannot figure out what's wrong. And Ava's dismissal isn't helping.]
Uh, yeah, I kinda do! Maybe not as well as the other me [that's a given], but we have been hanging out since you got here.
So give me at least a little credit. I may not be your friend from back home, but I'm still your friend here, so would you please explain what the heck's going on?!
no subject
[Like a grown-up.]
no subject
[He doesn't come right out and say it, but there's some very, very strong disapproval of your plan showing through in his present tone of voice.]
That about right? Or am I missing some of the subtleties?
no subject
Why would you even be worried about someone like me?
whoops, I thought I already tagged this
[This is not a complicated thing, Ava
except lol yes it is]And seeing you get that angry, out of nowhere? That's kind of when most people who care about you would get concerned.

You worry more about the bad guys than your own teammates. [The instant she says she knows it's unfair. This Pete doesn't have teammates to prove her wrong with.]
no subject
[Not that he knows that for sure, but it's mostly disappointment talking. He was under the impression she was just as devoted to schoolwork as he was, and the thought she was ignoring the possible ramifications of anything REALLY bad happening to the bad guys, or just the elven jerk, was not something that meshed with that impression.]
I want to make sure you don't do something stupid because I do care! I've got enough problems from my own screw-ups to let you go and make the same mistakes!

You don't have any way to prove it.
no subject
The only reason I'm here now is because I'm worried you might fly off the handle and hurt someone. Badly. And I don't want you to have to live with that!
no subject
[She hates that idea, hates how she can't help but think it was true of her Pete at home when she confronted Kraven.]
no subject
[oh my god Ava you are smarter than this and it's driving him insane]
I'm trying to keep you from screwing up, and screwing up as bad as I have! The fact I'm Spider-Man has nothing to do with it! I made those mistakes, as Spider-Man, and I don't want anyone I care about doing the same!
no subject
[Ava's mouth twitches after she shouts that. Even in her extremely upset state she can realize how ridiculous it was to hold that against Peter. Or anyone.]
no subject
Would you prefer I let you kill off a bad guy or two? Because trust me, you won't feel any better, you'll feel worse. And I am not letting you do that to yourself!
no subject
You already stopped me, alright? I thought it was because you were my friend. But you just -- you're -- [Alright, not only has she lost any hope of a compelling argument, she's lost her train of thought.] Rrrrgh!
no subject
If I didn't care about you why the heck would I wait around out here all this time just for you to finish blowing off steam and finally show up?
Or are you gonna try and convince me you were really just downstairs this whole time reading?
[Though he wouldn't believe that excuse even if he did know about your romance novel habit.]

I'm just trying to help. Alright? I know I'm not the Parker you're used to, but I really do want to help. But there's only so much I can do if there's things you're not telling me. Especially if you're holding them against me.
If you want, I can just...leave you alone for a while, I guess. Give us both time to calm down. Because I don't know how he feels about it, but I know I'm not a big fan of yelling. Not at you.
[Or, well, anyone not completely psychotic. Ava may have had a temper on her, but she was still a good person. And a pretty good friend, considering not a lot of people would have kept their mouths shut about the secret identity thing for this long.]

When she spots the white figure wandering around in that particular purposeful aimlessness that almost definitely means "patrolling", she lifts her good hand in a wave. Just because she's a little jealous doesn't mean she won't say hi. ]

[She shakes her and pulls off her mask, smile weak but present as she does.] I think my identity got pretty busted earlier today, though. At least assuming anybody cares enough to look into it.
no subject
Glad someone's taking care of things out there while I'm grounded. Even if I am kinda jealous.
aaaaaah late curse you lost notifs
[Then she smiles a little more for Rikki's sake.] Like you said, lots of competition. We could all afford a break sometime, right?
it happens; no worries!
I don't know, maybe that's good. We could be like... normal people. Who get to take vacations and sick leave and everything. [ Even if they don't really want it. ]
no subject
[Not that she doesn't sympathize about the forced sick leave. She knows she hates being out of commission.]
