Event | Sinbrilee | Bacchanal
Characters: Any and all!
Date: August 24 - 30th
Location: Sinbrilee
Situation: An ancient festival of an ancient city, all are welcome at the Bacchanal!
Warnings/Rating: Please label threads as appropriate.
Death and destruction cannot curtail the single most important festival celebrated by the denizens of Sinbrilee: The Bacchanal! The ghosts in and about the city have begun to gossip about high fashion and festivities, sending any that inquire to the Amphitheatre -- a grand, circular structure nestled in the west side of the city.
This structure bore the fall of Sinbrilee and the wear of time with dignity, having lost handfuls of archways and one long stretch of wall to crumbling decay. Despite this, it is obvious that the amphitheatre once hosted many a display and every more festivities than the mind can grasp. This was their solace and safety; here is where the people of Sinbrilee came to find the mind's escape from all that threatened them and their great turtle.
Ghosts have been busy throughout the week, clearing paths through debris and hanging great cloth banners of soft blues and greens to disguise the more blatant signs of its decline. Many hundreds of them shimmer and slid through the area, providing for tables upon tables of food, offering drink, and overseeing competition of sport and skill (some even denying death's non-corporeal curse to enter).
Here, well... Here is where the party begins!

Considering how much I enjoy being able to see, I thank you for the consideration. Still, what are these abilities you have? In my world we have deities and spirits and such but...angels aren't something I'm familiar with.
[And she is definitely interested in learning the difference. Separated from her own deity, she is understandably drawn to anything or anyone who comes close, if nothing else than for a sense of familiarity in a strange city like Keeliai.]

He gets a thoughtful look on his face.]
Where to start? Um...well, I can heal somebody if I needed to. I believe that may be the standard of what most would consider angels to have in their arsenal. I can move instantly from one place to another. I have been alive for more time than most can fathom. I can move objects with my mind or a gesture. I'm stronger than the average human obviously and...
[He considers a moment further before a grin forms on his lips to grow still further.]
In extreme cases, I can travel backwards and forwards in time. There's probably more, but a list of things can get really boring.
no subject
Not a god but not far off, by the sound of it. Only the deities where I'm from can do all of those things, be all of that.
[The hand at her shoulder squeezes a moment, but she makes no accompanying proposition with it as she might have with another mortal. There are ways in which one does thing back home in such situations.]
It's a shame you're stuck here as all of us are, especially with all of that power at your fingertips, but I can't say I mind having your company.
no subject
Be careful. Any more compliments like that and I just might burst.
[He can get used to treatment like this. Now he finds himself ever more curious on her world and others there perhaps not too much unlike himself.]
As for being stuck here, it really isn't so bad. Like you, I don't mind the company. I think I might like it better here than where I was. It certainly is better than Heaven.
no subject
Heaven? I assume that's something like the Higher Planes?
[Not that she's ever been but...]
It's the place where our deities live, if they aren't among us. Only they have access unfortunately, or I'd describe it. I can only assume it's lovely from what I've heard from Jhirem, of course.
no subject
Heaven...how should I explain this...higher plane is one way of putting it in the most basic sense...
[He only knows what it is like for the souls that arrived there when their existing body died off. Angels can see it all really.]
It is whatever an individual soul makes of it...by that I mean Heaven is how each soul chooses to live in what they would consider bliss. Whatever makes that soul happy is what they see generally. I took a stroll through many of them myself. Nobody notices you unless they want you to in terms of angels.

[What were those little pockets of paradise like for other people? What is their space of bliss? Heaven for Bryn would be Askoupur. It was what filled her dreams, after all. Giving him a speculative look, she leans in, eyes sparkling with interest.]
But you must tell me, what would yours be if you had your own little slice? What would your bliss be?
no subject
He gives her a little wink.]
I wouldn't mind endless dancing with beautiful women for all eternity if I am to be awfully blunt.
no subject
That doesn't sound like a terrible thing to me. I don't think I can oblige you for eternity, but at least for tonight I'd be happy to dance the night away.
[She pauses a beat as her lips quirk up a little more at one corner.]
Perhaps even after the party is over as well, if that's something that would interest you.
no subject
I suppose this is the part where I ask the question of your place or mine.
[He quirks his own almost mischievous smile.]
And I mean that in the most innocent way of course. Basically I am very interested.
no subject
My place in the Fire sector, although we might have a problem because I'm afraid my offer was made with the least innocent of intentions.
[If possible, she manages to look regretful. Clearly her lack of good intentions is going to be a problem for him, right?]
no subject
And I went along with it because the least innocent of intentions is my absolute favorite game. As I too live in the Fire Sector, I suspect that we will be seeing quite a bit more of each other.
[If that is not a declaration of their mutual interests then he does not know what else he can say.]
no subject
Well in that case, from what I understand, this party will be going on for some days. How would you feel about taking our dancing somewhere private at this point? You can show me how you play that game in your world, hm?
[Because knowing how few deities and deity-like beings have contact with humans in their worlds, she has to wonder if he's ever been able to be himself when around other people. People who don't possess divine powers, that is.]
no subject
No point when the night just happens to be getting better and better.]
It would be my absolute pleasure. I'll show you a few special moves I have up my sleeve.
[He will only stop dancing long enough to offer his arm. No time to waste after all.]
Shall we tie up around here?
I'll show you a couple of mine as well. Shall we?
[It's a bit of a ways back to Keeliai, after all, though she's hoping that considering the power he has, he can make the trip that much shorter for them both. It's not that she's not patient but, well, could anyone blamer her for wanting to get there sooner rather than later?]
Belated I agree
Not a moment to waste. If you will permit me to make this trip all the more quick then I can just snap my fingers and poof.
[At this point, just a simple nod and a smile and he will make this instantaneous trip a reality. He will add in a casual wink here.]
no subject
[Bryn nods, giving him permission to whisk them away as he pleases.]
