Characters: Tarrlok and YOU!
Date: Catch-all for September
Location: Around Keeliai
Situation: Various. Feel free to post your own starter if you'd like, or send me a PM or a ping on Plurk if you want me to add a starter for you.
Warnings/Rating: Bloodbending. If anything else comes up I'll add it.
A: Around School
[Tarrlok was hard at work on something. Papers are piled up on his desk (in an organized manner, of course). They're not even all school related. He's mostly just making busy work for himself when he's done everything else because he's so used to spending most of his time working that he doesn't really know what to do with himself when he's finished.
Finally letting himself have a bit of a breather, he steps out into the hallway.]
B: Shopping in the Fire District
[After the most recent trip out of Keeliai, Tarrlok found himself in possession of some extra money. Not as much as he was used to, but still more than he'd previously had. So, he figured he'd go out and buy something. Things he needed, but perhaps a little treat for himself, too. He could use some new clothes.]

Which meant allowing even people he'd been uncomfortable with in the past (mostly his own fault, in this case) to teach there as well.
He hadn't actually spoken to Sabriel much since, and almost never in person, but he figured the time would come for a meeting eventually and he didn't want to make a fool of himself by holding a grudge over something his brother apparently wanted.]

Headmaster? Was there something you wanted to discuss with me?

I'm teaching some of my students about binding techniques- and for those who can't use magic, how to spot something only pretending to be human.

The last part - would it work on something like...[Right, he's not supposed to say Malicant.]...you know?

It would probably take many mages working as one, butI think we should attempt it.

But, in their conversation, Khan had made an effort to hide their meeting from prying eyes, so it was possible that he did understand why the ability was forbidden and, to be honest, it was nice to see someone react with something other than disgust and scorn when the true nature of his abilities were revealed.]
I'm ready, if you still want a demonstration.
[Just a quick text message (in English, because he had been practicing) for now, because he was still somewhat nervous and wanted to compose himself before a face to face meeting.]

Text -> Action;
[Once the message and information were sent, Khan easily made his way through the Fire Sector to one of the many underground gang hideouts. One he had took up as a temporary base of operations, lit by lanterns and overhead lighting. A few tables covered in bits of satellite technology he was able to salvage from the gang that was once there.]
Don't worry. there are no others here aside from us. I've persuaded them to give me ownership of this place.
[Khan was wearing his usual black attire, black trench coat hanging off the chair he was sitting in, and he turned to looked at Tarrlok when he heard him approach.]
More than enough space for a demonstration.
Action;
['Persuaded' sounded a little suspicious, but Tarrlok did own a secret cabin with a human-sized box in the basement so he wasn't really one to question it.]
I...just want to make sure you know what you're getting into here. There's a reason this ability is forbidden, and most people wouldn't want it tested on them. I've had it used on me before, and it's not something I'd ever want to experience again. Are you sure you're up to it?
Action;
Most people fear greater things. I am much more resilient than most and accept any consequences, do not concern yourself further than that.
[Setting his arms at his side, Khan stood completely still and watched Tarrlok carefully.]
Begin at your leisure.
Action;
He gets into his bending stance and focuses. It was unsettling how easily bloodbending came to him still, and not just now, either. Even when he used it on Korra after trying to forget he had the ability at all for twenty-seven years, it all came back to him right away. Not really something that could be forgotten.
He hesitated for a brief moment, and then clenched his fists. He wasn't sure the bloodbending would work on Khan (or anyone else here, for that matter) as this was the first time he had tried, but if there really was a war coming he'd have to try it out sometime.]
Action;
Within a second’s time, Khan felt his shoulders stiffen of their own accord and his chin was suddenly forced upward. After that he attempted to move his arms, but that struggle only increased the pain of the bloodbending. Soon he was only able to moves his eyes to look around.]
Action;
Was that...sufficient? [He'd never talked about bloodbending in such a businesslike manner before.]
Action;
For now. [It was brief, but the display gave him an insight to why many would want to forbid it.] How many are you able to affect at once?
[Being able to make others physically do whatever the controller willed, well that is something Khan was interested in. Though Tarrlok had already informed him that it cannot be taught.]
Action;
I've never tested my limits in regards to how many, but five was not too difficult, so at least that.
Re: Action;
[Ideally Khan would want to strike first, but it’s hard to plan given the little information on its physiology.]
Action;
[Which he still thinks is really unfair considering he's not even the strongest person here.]
Action;
I haven’t been here long and my existence has fallen under that same lens. [Of course he brought it on himself, and he was quite sure Kirk had alerted others to his past by now.]
Considering the rumors of how the evil essence operates, your skill will be vital and should be exercised to its fullest extent.
Action;
There are some people here who would rather the strong be weakened than potentially have advantages over others, even if it would mean losing the war. I don't intend on listening to them.
Action;
[He stretches out his fingers, the blood flow returning back to normal was a sensation he didn’t feel too often.]
Let me know if your decision aligns with your intent.

But, he wasn't exactly on constant lookout for anyone in particular, even when he noticed the rush of new faces. But, even being here he still wore his water tribe garb and was unlikely to try a style change any time soon, so he was recognizable enough to people from his world.
Now he was just walking around, taking a bit of a detour on the way back to his suite because he told his brother and Korra that he'd get out more.]
