Some career 'opportunities' just weren't worth it- everywhere had a shortage of nurses, if they really wanted to pick up and move to a different city, Gotham was somewhere near the bottom of the list. Way too dangerous. Not to mention anywhere that far north wouldn't have good Mexican food.

Getting mugged wasn't something she wanted to have happen, but it wasn't one of those things that was out of the realm of possibility.
