Exploring and finding
Characters: Pepper Potts, Rory Williams, (open)
Date: During Landfall
Location: Sinbrilee
Situation: Exploration, finding stuffs, admiering architecture. Probably getting into trouble as people are want to do.
Warnings/Rating:None for now
Pepper knew better then to go off exploring in a desolate city by herself. She knew the smart thing would be to find an 'exploring buddy' and watch one another's back. She also knew that if something really wanted to eat her then having someone with her wouldn't really be a deterrent. It would just get them eaten too. The smart thing would have been to stay back in the city and keep working. She'd done that last time and it had proved to be much more dangerous then leaving. The wounds she'd been given seemed to almost ache just remembering it. No, a change of pace would be good for her. A bit of breathing room away from everything.
She'd at least remembered to dress properly; a pair of jeans, hiking boots and one of her button down shirts. She'd also pulled her hair back in a ponytail. Maybe she could find something she could trade to help pay for the book translations. She still thought paying the proposed sum was the best root. The people here were ... Different. She couldn't put her foot on it, but it kept her from trusting them even a little bit. They were close. Close enough that the goal was not only conceivable, but also attainable. Then, hopefully it would be worth the work.

Not that he would want either of those, obviously.
Rory would be lying if he said he wasn't interested in what this Sinbrilee had to offer. In its own way it was pretty amazing, and for all his tendencies to be careful he couldn't help but indulge in his own curiousity, which led him to exploring the strange city the turtle had dived onto (although he continued to ensure his own safety as he did so). He hadn't really seen the Doctor ever since the initial dive, but he was sure the Time Lord would pop up eventually - he was probably too busy (and excited) exploring the place as well.

She heard Rory before seeing him, carefully trying to duck into what was once a side street to let the unknown person pass. It wasn't graceful and it wasn't quiet. In fact, she was pretty sure whoever was there had heard her. Still, she did her best to try getting a view without being seen, and thankfully she recognized the face. She quickly cycles through her mental database until a name is added to that familiar face.

As he walked down the street he had randomly decided to wander on, there was a sound and Rory stopped when he heard it. He took a quick glance around at his surroundings, trying to figure out if the sound was actually something he should be wary about.
"...hello?" he started slowly, still looking around, not wanting to be taken aback if something decided to come and surprise him.

It took her a few moments, tripping over rubble as she did, to come out of her hiding place. "Mr Williams, what are you doing out here?" The confusion is real, she isn't exactly sure what Rory is doing down here. Probably the same thing as she is, she supposes. Looking for anything he can use.

When the woman stumbled out from the shadows Rory quickly relaxed before he could do anything stupid out of reflex; having to live two lifetimes full of nothing but fighting tended to do that to you. He quickly tucked his hands into the pockets of his pants, keeping them down as he blinked at the woman, taking a moment before he placed a name to the face.
"Uh," he started a little uncertainly. "Just looking around and things, I guess." Rory put on a small smile then, one that was sheepish and apologetic. "I mean, since we're here, might as well look around and stuff, right?"

She glanced at the area of the ruined city in front of them and frowned. It must have been beautiful once. Complete Grecian architecture. Pepper had always had a soft spot for art. Curating Tony's collection had always been a stress reliever for her, as had been his interior decorating (When he'd sold it off to the Boy Scouts of America she's almost refused to forgive him). The area seemed to hold an eerie glow to it, with ghosts roaming around and the city falling apart. Still, if she closed her eyes she could almost recreate the way it must have been with her mind's eye. "It must have been a beautiful city."

"I'm sure it was," he offered back tentatively, hoping that he wasn't going to put his foot in his mouth or something like that. That was the Doctor's thing, not his. "Maybe we can find a picture or something about how it looked like before--all of this." He gestured vaguely towards their surroundings as he said that, hoping that could get the point across.
