Metal Sector - Night

Her reconnaissance of the Metal sector and investigations into the origins of Dust proceed slowly. She's discreet and quiet, largely taking the blend-in-and-listen approach. Other similarly nosey people might cross paths with her at some point.

Investigation has never really been her forte, at least before she arrive in Keeliai. And lately, it seems to be one of those things that she does often now. Not that Vanessa really knows what she's looking for. Anything seems to cover it, and being invisible tends to help with that.

When she spots Una, she decides to reform, sidling up to the woman quietly. "Anything?"

Una greets Vanessa with a small, quick smile. "Little enough, as yet," she says with a tiny shrug. "One dead end, at a few people who know less than they're telling."

"Finding answers around here is incredibly difficult for now reason." She toes a rock, nudging it over. "You'd think finding a lead would be simpler."

[una_persson]

"We made such good progress before," Una replies, frowning. "Perhaps it was easier when times were hard. Now that we're comfortable again, it's simpler to go back to playing 'ignore the foreigner'." She sighed. "How have you been since our adventure, anyway? It looks like you and Catty are keeping busy."

"Perhaps they're afraid things will become harder again. It's easier to pretend like it'll stay this way forever than it is to think that nothing will be safe until we different our common enemy." It's frustrating as hell, and she knows that she was the same way once upon a time. Vanessa's come a long way since then.

She smiles. "I have good days and bad. I'm just trying to keep focused on this outreach thing. Maybe we'll get new leads from people still using, you know? I mean, that's not the whole reason I want to do this, but it doesn't hurt."

"It's good work that you're doing," Una says. "Are you getting a good response? It seemed like some of the people we met during our investigation might have been receptive, at least."

[fatedchaos]

"It hasn't been too bad. It'll be better once the center is open, then I can get more people at once." She smiles at the praise, though. Doing good work, that's what she's hoping she can still do. "All we can do is keep trying."

[una_persson]

"I'll tell you if I uncover anything of interest," she says. "For what it's worth—" she lowers her voice a little, "the stuff seems to have originated in the Metal sector. If you hear anything along those lines, will you let me know? Even if it's just a rumour or a tall tale."

[fatedchaos]

Metal Sector. Vanessa nods. "Yeah, no problem. I'll see if Catty can dig anything up over that way." Not that she likes Catty abusing her powers like that, but it's easier. "I'll let you get back to it then. Keep me updated on whatever you find."

"Thanks. And I will, of course." She smiles. "And let me know if I can lend a hand at all with the centre."
