[Mark had been considering himself lucky that he hadn't been hit by the spell yet... at least until he opened his window and saw a little tyke with a power ring drawing on his suite.]

What, did you run out of paper?

[imaginate]

[Kyle looks up at him, not recognising Mark. He squints, attempting to place the face and voice.]

Paper's for boring people.

[shorttempered]

Cleaning's for boring people too, and I hate cleaning.

[Big brother powers activate.] So guess who's going to get a sponge and a big bucket of water?

[imaginate]

[Kyle looks at him, eyes wide, almost dropping the paintbrush.]

You wouldn't.

[shorttempered]

[He forgot how much joy you can get from this. No wonder parents do it all the time.] Well I didn't commission this painting, so I'd say I would.

[imaginate]

[There's now a very small, very angry glowing green child on the windowsill.]

Then you're [slowly, unused to the word:] un-cul-tured. This is the coolest painting on the block.

[shorttempered]

[Oh no, you glow green!] Hey now, I never said you weren't talented, but I'd much rather have it on a canvas so I can hang it up. Right now what I have is a mess, and in my house you always have to clean up your own messes.

[imaginate]

[A+ Mark. This defuses him instantly.]

You want it on a wall in your house?

[shorttempered]

On a canvas on a wall in my house. [Because the last thing he needs is you defacing his walls too.] I'll pay you for it too--just like a commission. But first you have to clean up your "art" on my house.

[imaginate]

Same thing!

[Impatient handwave.]

Did you just say art with quotation marks?

[Shh, magic kid powers hear those type of things.]

[shorttempered]

[Not even close to the same thing.]

Do you want the money or not?

[imaginate]

[Kyle flicks paint at him.]

Art is for the people!

[And then he zooms off and resumes the graffiti on Mark's building, with a renewed fury. Oops.]

[shorttempered]

[Sighs. There's only one thing left to do--

--and so Mark emerges from his house in some of his more ratty clothes, hands in the air to show he's not trying anything.] Got another brush?

[imaginate]

[Kyle grins and tosses one to him.]

[shorttempered]

[He's a full believer of if you can't beat them, join them, and he knows when he's lost.]
