[It's a nice, peaceful spring day here in Tu Vishan, and the Wood Sector is no exception to that. If you happen to be passing through the area, there's nothing particularly out of place or strange, at least no more so than usual. Except, well, a random shoe isn't really supposed to seemingly drop out of the sky and land on the ground, or maybe even your head, are they? Alas, that is exactly what just happened. Hope it didn't hurt if it landed on you...]

Oh, shoot! [Says a voice from way, way, way up high in one of the many trees in the Wood Sector. If you look up, you'll see one (1) Leia Rolando looking down and missing a shoe, although that might be hard to tell when she's so high up.] Sorry about that! Are you alright? It didn't hit you or anything did it?

[Leia why don't you just go down instead of shouting from a tree... Granted how she even got all the way up there might be a good question to start with too...]

—water sector

[You have to work to make a living, right? Even when you're whisked off to completely different worlds without permission... But that's exactly what Leia's doing, advertising some local produce in the Water Sector market.]

Fresh sea prunes, get your fresh sea prunes! Step right up and try this delicious delicacy! [Except you can see the sea prunes in a stand right behind her and those don't look good at all. They're wrinkly, kind of damp looking, and the color is none too appetizing. If she sees you looking though, even if it's from sheer horror, she'll be flashing a bright grin, waving you over.]

Hey, you over there! Why not give these a shot and see how you like them?

[She's already taking a few from the stand and putting them in a bowl to offer them as a sample. Is this it, is this going to be the end of an innocent bystander's taste buds...?!]

—all around

[It turns out that there's a problem with working open stalls with exposed food though. Flying around the area today is one of those giant birds that seem to have come with the arrival of spring. While that in particular isn't too out of the ordinary, the fact that it has a plastic bag obviously filled with food probably is. Why is it even flying around everywhere instead of just landing in one area? Well...

There might be one girl chasing it the entire time, too.]

Get back here you stupid bird!! [And theeeere she is, panting and with her bo staff in hand. Just how long has she been chasing this bird? Why is she actually getting this worked up over a single bag of groceries in the first place? The world may never know.] You better put that down before I make you part of dinner too!

[Despite making a skilled swing at the bird with her staff, it just flaps its wings lightly and avoids the hit, almost as if it's mocking Leia. Someone tell her to just give it a break already before she hurts herself... Or someone else honestly, is she even watching where she's swinging that thing!!]

[Mark was just enjoying his day, blissfully unaware of his surroundings... a mistake that causes him to get a shoe to the head. Blinking, he picks up said shoe as he tries to figure out where it came from...] What the...?

[Then, before he could look up on his own, he hears a voice calling him from the branches of the nearest tree.] I'm fine! Are you all right? How'd you get up there?

I climbed! [She says it like it's a pretty simple thing. If you wanna go up a tree, you climb, right? Never mind that she may or may not have cheated a bit with the help of her artes... AHEM.] But I'm fine, yeah! Sorry for the trouble though.

No trouble at all! You want your shoe back?

Yeah, it's pretty important for walking and all! Do you want me to climb down? [She doesn't really want to put someone through the hassle of climbing up a huge tree if they don't want to.]

Yes, but is it important for climbing? [He smiles.] Don't worry, I can come to you!

[And with that, Mark pretends to climb the tree after her, but in reality is relying on his flight and not his (lack of) tree climbing skills.]

Haha, just a little bit, yeah! [With that said though she waits patiently on her branch. Man, there sure are a lot of people who can fly here! It's pretty amazing to Leia.]

Here you go. [(Needlessly) hangs onto a nearby branch while he hands her the shoe with the other.]

So, uh, enjoying the view?

Thank you very much! [And with that, she'll be taking her shoe and tying it back on. Hopefully it won't be lose enough to fall off this time...]

Pretty much, yeah. I mean, you can just see so far out up here! It's absolutely amazing.

It's not the biggest city I've been in, but it really is something else. If you're looking for a good view, you might want to try one of the office buildings in the Metal sector. Those are the biggest buildings on the turtle.

Really? It might be the same city in the end, but I best it'll look completely different from there. Would they mind someone just going through to reach the rooftop though? I'm not sure how easy it'd be to climb a building.

[Uuuh that's a good question, actually. As someone who can fly, he's never really thought about it.] It depends on the building, I guess. It never hurts to ask, right? The worst they can do is say no.

Yeah, you're probably right. Can you imagine how random that'll be though? Going about your job when some kid approaches all, "Hi there mister, do you mind if run up the stairs to look out from the rooftop?" They'll probably think I'm nuts.

[He laughs at that.]

That's true.

But then again, I'm sure they've seen weirder. This place is crawling with superheroes, and if people dressed in brightly colored costumes shooting lasers out of their hands doesn't top a girl asking to check out the roof, the Kedan certainly have odd priorities.

[Now she can't help but laugh at what he says. It paints quite a picture.]

I guess this place is due for at least a little bit of weird, what with living on a giant turtle of all things! It makes me wonder what the weirdest thing they've actually seen is.

Well the Kedan are all shapeshifters, so that's a bit of weird right there too. At least for us, anyway. Well, for me. [He's familiar with shapeshifters, but not a whole bunch of them at the same time.]

I don't know about you.

And come to think of it, that's a great question. I have no idea.

Me too. I'm used to spirits and magic and stuff like that, but shapeshifting... To be honest, I'm not sure if I'll ever get completely used to that.

Do you think they'd mind me trying to ask? They'd probably have some pretty crazy stories to tell! [She can picture it now, disrupting someone's regular grocery shopping for weird story time.]

Oh? What's your world like? Is it Earth or somewhere else? [Because just because her world has magic, he knows better than to write it off as an Earth.... and there's getting to be an awful lot of versions represented on this turtle.]

I don't think so, but it really depends on the Kedan and the situation. I mean they wouldn't want you interrupting their dinner or something, and some of them are just jerks at the best of times, so... that's a long winded way of saying it doesn't hurt to ask?

[shaking her head] My world's called Rieze Maxia. Aside from people I know from home who're here too, I don't think anyone's even heard of it.

Don't worry, I get what you mean. I'll just try to ask a friendly-looking one when they don't look too busy... Or as friendly as one of them might look when they can just shapeshift into something else.

I can't say I've heard of it, but at least you've got people you know here. [Not that it's actually a good thing in hindsight, but Mark misses having people he knows here.] Because even if you're from the same place... you might not be from the same place. Like I'm from Earth, but from a different Earth than everyone else from Earth.

Most of them don't do that, luckily. My crew is mostly kedan and they only really do it when it's necessary. I don't know if it's just how they are or they do it to not scare the crap out of us.

A... different Earth from everyone else's Earth? [If her tone wasn't enough, the confused expression on her face probably tells enough on how weird the idea sounds.] I didn't even know something like that could happen. This might not be the best place for them to be, but I'm definitely glad that the people I know are from the same place.

Really? I guess it'd be nice if they're actually doing something to help us. [Because it sure doesn't feel like that a lot of the time...] Your crew though? Do you work with them or something?

[Ah crap, how to explain this.] There's apparently this thing... called the Multiverse. It's like a bunch of different versions of the same place next to each other in parallel universes. So like... in one universe you have your Maxia. Then there might a different universe where everyone who is good on Maxia is now evil, and vice versa. Or one where some army who lost a war on yours actually won it there. Or even a version with all different people, like my case with Earth. We apparently have people on different Earths who have superheroes, but some Earths have different superheroes than others. Some where magic is real, some where magic isn't real, and some where all of that stuff is just in movies and comic books. ...Did I make any sense?

Oh yeah, I should have been more specific. I don't mean crew like a gang or anything. I work for Wayne Enterprises, one of the foreigner owned businesses here, as a crew chief for their construction division.

Uh... Yeah, sorta. Kinda? [SHE'S TRYING TO WRAP HER HEAD AROUND THIS, HONEST.] I guess it's kind of like how there's all these different worlds out there, just... in one universe instead of a bunch of different ones. Or something like that. Am I close at least?

[The funny part is that this is exactly what she'll be dealing with in her sequel canon.... But that's hindsight for you!!]

Ohh, okay, I got it now! Construction though... So I'm guessing that you build stuff?

[He nods. Oh good, he's not completely terrible at this.] Basically. The multiverse is basically a bunch of copies of that, with each version slightly different.

I help build stuff, yeah. We focus on philanthropic buildings, like orphanages and hospitals, but if there's a major disaster we help rebuild wherever we can.

[She lets out a sigh.] Okay, got it! I'm glad I actually understood all that.

It sounds like good work. With all the trouble that comes by here, I'd think that rebuilding helps a lot.

I'm pretty impressed. I had to live it--[Not in the costume, Mark.]--by staying here for a while before it sunk in. Don't worry, it'll be less confusing in no time.

Oh yeah. Especially since the turtles were born.
