ENDPLOT | BEFORE THE DAWN
Characters: ALL!
Date: December 1-7, 2014
Location: Under the shell and in the Dreaming
Situation: Malicant’s defeated, but it seems the Foreigners have gotten a little bit stuck ...
Warnings/Rating: Add warnings as needed.
Where are you going?
What did you do?
Can you hear me?
Hello?
At first the Dreaming twists and warps around the Foreigners, radiating with the sort of unheard shriek that causes adults to wake sweating in their beds. The only problem is--they don’t. Something cracks like a thud in the skin and the surroundings of the turtle’s body dissolves, and their environment changes in a heartbeat between blank greyscale and any familiar environment.
Eventually it settles, but something is wrong. Where before the Foreigners had clarity of thought even in the Dreaming while battling Malicant, at first it feels as though their minds are shrouded, groggy with half-sleep. They might find it difficult to realize where they are--that their most familiar environment, surrounding them now, is not because they've been sent home. They’re still Dreaming, and the Dream is subtle, but can be manipulated and can be shared if they remember their comrades strongly enough. More of them converging in one place will help shed that torpor, leaving them to realize what might be happening...
They’re trapped. Every now and then they hear Eva’s voice speaking, and some of them will even see her in person, walking through their Dream with a trail of grey mist in her wake.
Can you hear me?
Follow me.
If you want to go home, follow me.
[OOC: If you’re intending to canon update your character (even if they just want to return home to "check in") OR if your character is departing Tu Vishan for good, please use Eva’s subheading! If you’re not going to canon update but your character will still try to follow Eva, she will vanish into grey mist and they’ll be unable to follow.
The rest of the log is general "mingling" while the characters who choose to remain in Keeliai are trapped together in the Dreaming. They can share details of their battles against Malicant, try to brainstorm a way to escape the Dreaming, anything they want. They will be aware of the passage of time, though they won't have any concrete way of knowing how much, only that it seems like it's much longer than it should be.
Please see this OOC post for additional information regarding timing and posting during this log, or questions. Thank you! ]

Once she catches up next to Annabeth, Korra gives the camp one last glance before looking over to her.
Sounding casual has never been so hard, but she tries anyway. "This is it, huh?"
no subject
Annabeth closes her eyes for a second and breathes out. "I've seen it so many times in dreams here before, even in the Dreaming. But I haven't... felt this close two years."
no subject
"Well, I don't know exactly what you mean, I've never been there before." Korra dips her head to her shoulders smiling sheepishly. "But I'm glad you got here, through all of that stuff." The best way she can describe it.
no subject
Annabeth laughs a little herself, but it's soft. "I'm glad too." And 'glad' is an understatement. She's not even sure she can describe what it feels. "What about you? Are you going home?"
no subject
Missing friends and family, she couldn't pass it up either. Thought it meant leaving behind the friends here, like Annabeth.
"Yeah." She can't stop her smile from twitching. "I'm going to miss you."
no subject
"I'm gonna miss you too," she gets out. "And other stuff about this place. But -"
Annabeth can't really find the words with enough brevity. No matter how much there is to miss, she's missed everything from home even longer. "We deserve to go home by this point, you know?"
no subject
"Yeah." She knew. If anyone outside of Zatanna knew what Annabeth means by deserving to go home, it's Korra. "Yeah, we do. We've seen a lot of people go, but now that everything's over and done with-
Yeah, Annabeth. We really do." Being able to do so, after all that time, is overwhelming and Korra doesn't know whether to hug, laugh, or cry. Maybe all three.
no subject
She's not the most affectionate of people, but she sort of moves forward in a motion that can only be described as going in for a hug, because she's run out of words, which always kind of stumps her.
no subject
Not just some carrot being dangled in front of their faces.
She bites both her lips while smiling, shedding tears as she squeezes to let Annabeth know just how much she understands.
"Take care of yourself."
no subject
Annabeth laughs, but it's stunted and a little choked. "I always do," she says, trying to give off an air of lightness, but it's masked by the reality of the goodbye. "You too, okay? You and Naga both."
no subject
"I will." A promise as she takes a final moment before stepping back, letting go. "Now get going before Eva leaves you behind." Korra smirks, her own way to try and mask how much she’s going to miss Annabeth.
As much as they deserve and need to go home, she's going to miss her.
no subject
She smiles, expression both hopeful and sad, which pretty much summarizes all her feelings of the situation. She's going to miss Korra a lot, too. She gives her friend one last hand squeeze before breaking away completely. "Home sweet home awaits."
no subject
"Everyone's waiting for you." Her smile never falters and even though they've been told times stops, Korra's a firm believer that the ones they love somehow know.
"Goodbye, Annabeth." Her voice is shaped around that smile, the loss is outweighed by her happiness at Annabeth being a stone throw's away from her world.
no subject
She smiles at Korra for what's probably the last time. At least this parting isn't over tears and blood. It's on good terms. Willing terms. "Goodbye, Korra."
