April Catchall!

Characters: Zelos Wilder and YOU
Date: All throughout April!
Location: All over the city!
Situation: Arrival/Mugging/Etc
Warnings/Rating: PG-13 For mugging stuff also Zelos flirts a lot.

April 3rd

The former Chosen had quite literally found himself 'washed up.' Despite having clear memories of falling asleep in Meltokio, he'd woken up in the middle of a canal in a strange city. Everywhere he looked, the buildings seemed to be in shades of blue and green, with the occasional purple. While some of the buildings might not look out of place in Meltokio, to see this many at once was unlikely. He was also feeling pretty drained and lethargic, which certainly wasn't helping matters, and the new bracelet on his wrist is strangely foreboding.

The first thing that springs to mind is foul play, but it doesn't take long for him to discount that thought almost entirely. If somebody had gone through that much effort, why would they just drop him in a canal?

His first order of business is making it onto land, and he might appear disoriented (and wet!) for a bit, but it won't take long before he sets out trying to find out more information. Eventually, he'll end up at the welcome center.

April 4th-5th

After he has a better idea of what's going on, he'll spend the first two-or-so days trying to get acquainted with the city.

By this point, he's obtained (through slightly questionable means) a new set of clothes that help him blend in better with the surrounding area. As he's still pretty wary about this entire ordeal, he's going to do his best to blend into the background (as much as a foreigner can, anyway) for these two days and gather information.

He'll be mainly sticking around the Fire, Metal, and Earth Sectors, and might pop out to ask a question, but will otherwise be pretty unobtrusive.

April 6th

Anybody who knows Zelos might notice that he looks a little more on edge on the sixth. His behavior starts more subtle, but gradually becomes more obvious as the day goes on. Eventually, he'll be walking a little bit faster and constantly ducking in and out of alleyways, almost like he's trying to lose someone (or someones, as the case may be). Anybody watching closely might see a young boy and girl not far behind him.

April 7th

Zelos notices the bracelet missing pretty quickly, but despite his best attempts to track down the brats he suspects are responsible for taking it, it's not long before he's doubled over in pain in an alleyway in the Central Sector. Anybody wanna help a guy out?

April 15thish-Onwards

A - The Midnight Hotel

A little more adjusted to the city and with a better idea of the situation, Zelos' abrasive nature has returned. He's managed to find a room at the Midnight Hotel, and needless to say, he's not the best of roommates.

Maybe he left his shit in your area, or maybe he keeps flirting with your girlfriend and/or sister. Whatever the case, he can be found in Room 20 for any and all necessary confrontations.

B - Pick a bar, any bar.

On about any given night he can be found in a bar not too far from the hotel, drink in hand. His behavior there really isn't any better than at the hotel, be it flirting with anything with a skirt and a pulse or taking part in a game of dice or cards with the other patrons. Whatever bar-related activity you can think of, it will be relevant here.

C - Choose your own adventure!

Raine had been having the fortnight from Niflheim, and it showed, but it was time to start returning to a more normal schedule at the Guild. Even so, she was heading back to the Hotel in the afternoon, rather than the evening as had been her wont, when she spotted a familiar (if bedraggled) figure making his way out of one of the canals.

For a moment, she stopped and stared. A small, traitorous corner of her mind wondered why couldn't you have been Regal. Regal would have been a concerted help keeping Foreigners from murdering each other. Zelos... Zelos was likely to get himself punched at some point.

But it was Zelos, and whatever else he was, he was among those she'd saved the worlds with. Raine made her way over to where he was, offered a hand down to help if he needed it. "Hello, Zelos," she said. Surprise wasn't evident in her voice. He might notice she looked tired, perhaps even a little older than he'd last seen her, and while she wore the same orange jacket as ever the cut of the clothes beneath was different. She'd been here a while.

she'll settle for not getting himself shanked

Raine rolls her eyes and drops his hand as soon as he's upright, taking a step back. He cannot help himself, can he. "I think I preferred it when you were calling me 'Professor,'" she says, looking him over for signs of obvious injury. Truth be told, she'd prefer her name, but she's long since given up getting Zelos to abandon nicknames. "You're soaked. Did you just get here?"

Whether he woke up in the canal or was tossed there by someone who took offense to his flirting, she can only assume it wouldn't have happened if he had all his power available to him. That thought raises another question, actually. "And what's the last thing you remember before waking here?"

"Oh, honestly," Raine says, with some annoyance. Unsurprisingly, he hasn't changed at all, and that combined with how sorely she's been pressed recently makes her a little sharper than she would be ordinarily. "Zelos, I couldn't care less about your philandering tendencies, though I would appreciate it if you directed those elsewhere. This is important. Sometimes the people here, even if they're from the same world, are from different points in time, and it's caused problems before. With relation to our journey, what is the last you remember?"

She frowns a little, realizing he hasn't addressed her by name, and while it looked like he recognized her, and he hasn't treated her as a complete stranger, neither has he said anything useful as a point of reference. Raine throws him a bone of a sort, to which his reaction will be informative in one way or another. "For comparison, the last memory I have of our world is the new Tree," she says. 'World' is pointedly singular.

Maybe she needs to snap at him more often, if it gets him to back off that quickly.

Raine sighs, rubs a hand across her eyes. "Thrilled," she returns, a little dry. "That puts you a little ahead, though. That's interesting-- I wonder why..." She trails off, considering possible reasons for the discrepancy between his time and theirs. Perhaps it's just that random, though she doesn't really like that explanation.

"Never mind," she says in a moment, clearing her thoughts and focusing on Zelos again. "Come on." Raine motions that he should follow her, waits to make sure he actually will before starting to walk. "I'll show you to the Hotel. It's considered neutral ground, here, and the man who runs it has the power to enforce that. He's a Foreigner, like us, so you won't need to be as cautious as you might in the rest of the city."
