[Semi-Open] And With All Your Magic, I Disappear From View
Characters: Everybody who wanted in on the magic plot, particularly those who responded here.
Date: Mid-July
Location: Turtle's Head
Situation: Zatanna has a theory. With a little help from some new friends and some not-so-new friends, she's about to test that theory out...
Warnings/Rating: UNPREDICTABLE MAGIC
Note: This Log with be separated into three parts. First will be the Pre-Spell Mingle, which is exactly what it sounds like. Characters will be given the opportunity to meet and greet with one another, discuss their respective magics, theories as to what might happen, etc. The second will be the Spell Casting, where each character involved will be given the opportunity to show off his/her/their stuff.
The third part of the Log will be the Results/Aftermath. Basically, once I have word from the mods how the Spell Casting will go, the subheader will be edited to include every last detail. From there, characters will be given the chance to react accordingly.
For questions/comments/uncertainties, feel free to contact me over on plurk (
hina_mun) or pop over to the OOC post.

"How's it looking? It's going to be a bigger turnout than we expected, I think..."

"Tell me about it." Her legs were starting to fall asleep as she stood up to greet him. "I'm going to feel pretty ridiculous if, in the end, nothing even happens."

She lifted her head, taking in the bodies already here. Recalling the conversation she'd had over the last few days. There was her own innate ability to sense magic, which was the main reason why she'd agreed to Valdis' suggestion of taking on such a task. There there were others who claimed to be even more adept.
And, on top of that, there were those who had absolutely no affinity for such a thing, but were coming along anyway. Either to lend a power boost, or even physical bodyguard.
"It does kind of remind me a little of old times." She couldn't help but agree. Not just the final battle, but there had been other times as well... "I don't suppose you remember the zombie attack years ago, do you?"

There's a tired fondness when he talks about his long-departed friend.

"That's the one. I remember...fighting along side people I normally wouldn't have otherwise." Damian. Before things between them had gone south. "And I remember...having to fight against a zombified version of Robin...."
In some ways, that had been far worse than what Malicant had unleashed. Because it had hit so personally. The face and costume of someone she cared about. Having to not only fight him, but watch him get blown up. Thinking she'd lost him for good...only to have him turn up several hours later. At the palace.
"Though, compared to all that, I guess this should be a piece of ice cream cake."

"Sounds like a plan."

Literally.
"...do me a favor?" A little softer, making sure he would be the only one who could hear her. "Stick close?"

"Just think of this like a really cool stage."

"Tell me about it. I'd almost forgotten how cold you are when I'm not wearing the charm."
no subject
But pointing that out would defeat the purpose of the joke.
"So what you're saying is that I should open a side business for free air conditioned hugs?"
no subject
"Hey, just think about how much business you'd make in August alone. Not including the discounts to certain favorite customers, of course. At that rate, you could put in a whole new console in the back."

"It would be nice to have one just for us. So that we don't have to wait if a customer comes in and needs to use the one out front."

"You're the best."
