CLOSED to Raine | Lunch Time, before Erskine's Fire (early August)
And it sucked.
Despite the hollowness that she carried within her, she continued on as normal, upbeat and friendly and hard at work at the Healing Guild. People seemed to be a little more lighthearted after the party at the hotel, and she was determined to keep it that way as long as she could.
When her last patient had been seen to, she found her way over to the sink, washing her hands as she let herself relax a little. Her stomach growled quietly under the sound of the running water, and with a quick glance at the clock, she decided she would take her lunch break. She'd have to find Raine, first, and make sure that the she knew she was leaving for now...
After finally locating her, Dove paused in a moment of consideration. the hollowness was not a thing that could be filled... but the loneliness that had taken root could be lessened if only she would take the opportunity. She should have started long ago, but had been distracted in the whirlwind of settling into things. At least now she had the time to right it.
With a smile, she made her way over, giving Raine plenty of space to complete whatever she was doing and careful not to interrupt. "Hey, you hungry?" she asked, relaxing. Why hadn't she done this sooner? "I was thinking about grabbing some lunch if you wanted to join."

"All right," Raine said in a moment, nodding. "I was planning to take lunch soon, in any case." Sometimes she brought one, usually leftovers, but she hadn't today, which worked out well enough. "What do you like? I know there are a few cafés within easy walking distance..."
In concession to the heat, she'd left her jacket, leaving her sleeveless but high-collared. Her staff came with her nevertheless, angled behind her and out of the way in an absentminded manner that spoke of long familiarity.

Even with the Gift of fire, she still wasn't fond of the weather.
"I do know the one that's well-known for their pastries has the right to be well known," she suggested, deciding that maybe she should be a little more helpful.

She started walking in any case, heading for the front entrance of the Guild and out into the Water sector proper, considering that they could just as well decide on the fly and there was no sense in wasting time. "Do you usually take lunch out?"

After gathering her bag and checking to make sure she hadn't forgotten anything, she followed Raine out the door and into the sun, enjoying the rays as they fell across her face and back, but frowning at the heat. Raine's question pulled her attention away, though, and the smile returned, this time, a bit more bashfully. "It depends on the day, really," she admitted. "If I'm not busy, I do like to get outside for a bit..." She very honestly didn't eat much, given her angel's appetite, but she did like exploring and having a chance to stretch her wings. "What about you?"
no subject
"I tend to bring a lunch," she said in a moment. "Leftovers, or I pick something up in the morning that will keep till later. That way, I lose a minimum of time mid-day." She gave Dove a small, wry smile. Having to stop to eat was a genuine inconvenience so far as she was concerned, but she kept it in mind because having to stop for exhaustion or dizziness would be worse. "But a change of pace is nice sometimes, it's true."
