Raine had been walking one of her students back through the basic steps of shaping first aid; when the last sparkles of mana had faded and Raine was satisfied with the results was a fairly obvious breaking point. Student then dismissed, Raine glanced over at Dove and tipped her head a little, curious but not completely surprised. They had been coworkers for a while, after all, and Dove seemed to be a friendly sort of person.

"All right," Raine said in a moment, nodding. "I was planning to take lunch soon, in any case." Sometimes she brought one, usually leftovers, but she hadn't today, which worked out well enough. "What do you like? I know there are a few cafés within easy walking distance..."

In concession to the heat, she'd left her jacket, leaving her sleeveless but high-collared. Her staff came with her nevertheless, angled behind her and out of the way in an absentminded manner that spoke of long familiarity.

"If you don't have any preferences, it's as good a plan as any," Raine said, with a little shrug. And she had no particular desires regarding type, beyond edible food that would both sustain and bolster her mana for the rest of the workday. "You mean the one..." And she named a street a few blocks away, a little farther than some of the others though still perfectly reasonable.

She started walking in any case, heading for the front entrance of the Guild and out into the Water sector proper, considering that they could just as well decide on the fly and there was no sense in wasting time. "Do you usually take lunch out?"

Raine looked somewhat less enthusiastic about the sun; there had been a semi-constant pinkness across the bridge of her nose and forearms for much of the month, no matter how she healed it away. But she fell into step with Dove easily, squinting only a little against the sunlight, and started picking out the path to the café they'd chosen.

"I tend to bring a lunch," she said in a moment. "Leftovers, or I pick something up in the morning that will keep till later. That way, I lose a minimum of time mid-day." She gave Dove a small, wry smile. Having to stop to eat was a genuine inconvenience so far as she was concerned, but she kept it in mind because having to stop for exhaustion or dizziness would be worse. "But a change of pace is nice sometimes, it's true."
