(no subject)
Characters: Shay Cormac, Pepper Potts. Let me know if you want in.
Date: 18th November
Location: Alley in the Earth Sector; The Morrigan
Situation: Shay has returned from canonAfter his mun was an idiot
Warnings/Rating: Man-angst, spoilers for AC: Rogue, seeing a grown man cry.
[Earth Sector]
No-one knows how Foreigners get pulled onto Keelial, but it's happened again.
If one were to take a particular notice down a specific alleyway off the main shopping district of the Earth sector, one might see a peculiar sight. A man, lying face-down on the ground, frost circling his leather clothing and snow in his hair. He looks half-frozen...
...And incredibly familiar.
---
[The Morrigan; Captain's Cabin.]
Shay was being wracked with dreams.
Recounted in his subconscious; Lisbon, returning to the homestead, the act of killing each and every Assassin under Achilles' mentorship. He remembers them all. Their faces, contorted with hate and rage at their betrayor... The people he once called friends and family. Expressions exaggerated by the memory and his own feelings.
He tosses and turns as this goes on, before, eventually, bolting upright, panting, looking around wildly, before he takes in the familiar appearance of his cabin on-board the Morrigan. He takes a moment, calming down, before hunching himself up into a ball, drawing his face into his knees.
"Liam..." He mutters, under his breath, before his shoulders start shaking with sobs.

Earth Sector
Before she can get that far, though, her eye for detail makes her pause. There's an odd shape in one of the alleyways; a shape that doesn't belong there, to be more specific. When she gets closer, she realizes it's a person and then:
Shay, she realizes. He's been gone. And now he's back.
When Pepper reaches him she checks for a pulse first before doing anything else, even panicking. The steady heartbeat is reassuring, although the frost on his clothing is not. First aid training kicks in: she doesn't want to move him on her own, not without the armor at least, and she can't roll him over on her own while protecting his head and neck. He doesn't look particularly injured, at least.
She tugs her radio out of her bag and calls for some backup.
Re: Earth Sector
"Shay!" he calls, not sure the other man is conscious, but he's heard that those unconscious CAN hear those around them, sometimes. I am here. And I am not the only one. Mademoiselle Pepper's done an admirable job so far, with helping you. I can only hope I follow her lead well."
And then, he's looking to Pepper, removing the few blankets and flask of brandy, along with a pretty shawl, more suited to a lady, in alternating shades of pale blue and lilac, that he'd dragged along.
"What can I do to start? OH." Something else occurs to Arno now. "Socks and a hat. They'll help to preserve heat if we can find dry ones or come up with them, right?"
no subject
"Uh." She glances at the things he's brought, itemizing them. The shawl gives her pause, but she doesn't comment on it. "Well, it'll help. You don't actually lose most of the heat from your body that way, but he might be more comfortable if he's warm and dry. Let's just... help me roll him over, would you? Put a blanket next to him that we can move him onto."
no subject
If so, that's amazing. For now, he'll focus, instead, on the other preparations afoot. The blanket is laid down and Arno's crouching next to Shay, searching for some sign of life, like a shallow breath or cough or anything at all.
"Do they not?" He looks at Pepper surprised. "Does science have new suggestions or do we simply warm him all over, then?"
no subject
"Getting his chest warm is best to start. Warm the blood around his heart that goes to the rest of the body. I'll hold his head if you roll him onto the blanket," she says. "Deon should be here any minute."
no subject
"I came as fast as I could," he said, running up, panting. "Is he all right?"
no subject
"Pepper here suggests we get his chest warm to begin." He explains, to catch things up as he moves into position to roll Shay now. "Does that seem reasonable?"
Worried though he is, this is also different, far different from the news in the letter Arno got, about losing another friend who happened to be a templar. Here, there are things he can do, and more importantly, people who can help him, or direct him to do it. Arno's relieved for that, and Deon also gets a tight smile, before Arno's nodding to Pepper again.
"Shay, you poor bastard. What misfortune found you now?"
no subject
She fixes Arno with a mildly annoyed look, as if to say 'don't question me, just do it.' But this is not the time or place to be getting snippy.
"Let's just get him home. We can figure out what happened when he stops looking like the Ice Man. Turn him over, toss a few more blankets on him and then we can move." She's getting cold herself, since Shay's head is on her jacket.
The Morrigan
She jumps when he sits up, wild-eyed and with a face full of terror. It only takes a moment for him to realize where he is, which gives Pepper enough time to get her heart rate back down. Just enough time, apparently, to also let her stomach drop out when she hears the name Liam. Liam, his best friend. Liam, whom he killed.
"Oh, Shay," Pepper murmurs gently, moving to sit on the side of the bed next to him. She hazards a hand on his arm, hoping he won't react poorly to the contact. "Shay... did you go home?"
no subject
Being jerked from his home leaves him discombobulated; given the last he recalls was still being surrounded by Assassin forces... he's pretty on-edge. He doesn't, however, attack immediately. His surroundings click once again; the Morrigan. If he was in Assassin hands, why would he be in his cabin? And then the person next to him clicks...
Definitely not an Assassin.
His tear-stained expression contorts in confusion for a moment.
"...Pepper?"
no subject
"Yeah, it's me. You're safe," she assures him. Her hands settle in her lap for now, even though she'd much rather be hugging him at the moment. "Deon and Arno are here, too," she adds cautiously, not wanting to overload Shay with too much information at the moment.
