[002] candy for the soul

[ Someone landed very suitably in a pile of garbage in someones backyard. The people had been upset with him at first because the result had been garbage everywhere, but once that was settled they calmed down and helped him out and patched him up.

But now that he's gotten some things dealt with he's set out to find some cafes because he wants to see what kind of sweets that this world has to offer.

He's still got some garbage on him though and he has no idea where he is. He was in the suburbs of some city before, he thinks, but he has no idea where he's headed (he was told that he should try the Midnight Hotel and pointed in that direction but his attention span is what it is and he might have stopped listening to the instructions on how to find the way somewhere around the first or second turn.

As he walks, he's thinking to himself. Out loud. About different things and the name "Aya-tan" comes up more than once, and there's something about a "Konatsu" and "Katsuragi-san" and seven "Ghosts" and fights but eventually he starts to wonder something specific. ]

They said the jewels are for soul stability but does that mean mine will be unstable either way? I mean, Aya-tan has half of it. Hmm...?

[ He sounds very cheerful about the question. ]

Tektite walked after the muttering man, curious, her claws clicking against the street. She wasn't bothering to be stealthy and this guy wasn't trying to hide himself, that was for sure. He really smelled! But she'd smelled much worse, so this wasn't too bad. She just kept after him, tail waving side to side.

"I've got to wonder why these gemstones would do anything for someone like me, myself," she said in reply to the question he asked himself. His muttering didn't seem to bother her.

Not the slightest bit bothered about being followed, Hyuuga twirled, walking backwards as he continued along the random path that he was taking. He wasn't showing any surprise at the appearance of what (who?) was following him, either. They had some peculiar things in his world, after all.

"Yeah, me too! It's funny, isn't it!" It also doesn't make much sense to him, but he's not bothered by those thigns either.

Tektite didn't see anything wrong with him walking backwards. An impressive feat, as far as she was concerned! She couldn't really do that without ending up on her rear.

"I know they were explained an all," she replied, as if this situation was perfectly normal. "But I'm a Gem, so why would a little gem do anything?" She shook her head, it was all a bit much for her. "Where are you going?"

The convenience of not having anything dangling at your feet, or something. The coat of his uniform were not long enough to trip on, otherwise he might have tripped.

"You are?" He looks at her curiously. Unlike Aya-tan, who had the powers of Verlorlen and some of the Ghosts, he could not tell what people are, if they're human or not. "You don't look like a gem, but maybe I just lack experience! But I'm going anywhere, really. I was told to go to something called Midnight Hotel but I'm more interested in finding any shops that sells sweets."

"Sweets?" Tektite had to think a bit before she could remember what those were like. She looked quite excited when it clicked. Flash had given her some candy before! Her pace sped up until she maneuvered to be beside Hyuuga. "Can I help you look? I could even give you a ride if you want. I know where the hotel is but I like your idea more."

A short pause. "Oh yes, I am a Gem. Not like little ones with no life in them. I have a form so I can, well, do stuff. It would be pretty boring if I couldn't." It had been a while since she'd been allowed out on a world with intelligent life she had to explain that to.

"Oh! Do you like sweets too?" That was exciting news! He loved sweets and sharing them with someone else who was enthusiastic about them was a wonderful thing. "Of course you can! You'd give me a ride? That's exciting!" And also sounds like it coud be fun.

Gem was an interesting and cute name. "Right? It's so boring to not be able to do anything." He hates being stuck in the regeneration tanks back at their HQ in Barsburg. It ensured that he became as good as new again even after something that would have killed a normal person (and Warsfeil were far from normal people) but it was boring none the less.

Tektite paused to lower herself until her stomach nearly touched the ground. While overly large in height or length, depending on how one saw her, she wasn't especially broad. She was even polite enough to dismiss the mane that ran down her back, the thick fur disappearing in a brief flash of light.

"I like them a lot! I have a friend that gave me some, they were a treat to her so it was pretty special. It would be nice to have some again." She struggled to keep her tail from arching or smacking into anyone else passing by, she was excited! "I agree with you on how terrible it is to not be able to do anything. I hope I get to stay on this weird place for a while. This is the most... anything I've been able to do!"

“Sweets are the best thing you can eat. We should try different kinds together! It could be a thing!” He wants to start a Sweets Club already, apparently.

Such a nice little lady she was! So she might not be little since she was pretty tall and long and all but still, a nice little lady, none the less. When he climbs onto her back, he’s careful not to pull on her fur or anything in any painful manner. He’s used to getting up on hawkziles and the likes though, so it was easy enough for him to get comfortably seated.

“Then I’ll hope that for you too! The more people hope the more effective the hope is, right?” That was probably not how it actually worked but Hyuuga never was picky about the details with things of the sort, so he would stick to that little belief of his.
