Watching the people get lairy / It's not very pretty I tell you /Walking through town is quite scary
Characters: Open Log
Date: 20/08 - Mid afternoon
Location: Courtyard of Public Opinion / Healer's Guild
Situation: Did someone say riot?!
Warnings/Rating: Extreme violence, Drug use mentions. Please include individual warnings in sub-headers, if needed.
It was a mostly quiet day, all things considered. There was the general crowd in the courtyard, people milling around, some making their opinions vocally known... Just another day.
At least, that is until mid-afternoon. Some time after 3pm, there were several muted noises from different points of the courtyard. Black smoke suddenly pours from these locations, spilling out and spreading across the courtyard in a manner of minutes. People are confused, their visibility reduced somewhat, and someone makes the realisation.
"Hey! It isn't smoke! It's some kind of powder."
Her realisation is cut short as someone takes offense to her loud tones and shoves her in the back and to the floor. The female kedan gets up and, without warning, punches her assailant in the cheek. Other people start gathering, all sounding incredibly angry.
Soon enough, there's a full-blown riot going on in the city, people attacking each other, screeching accusations at each other, flailing at things that aren't there. Windows and doors are getting shattered and broken, and it's starting to spill out into the surrounding area.
After twenty or so minutes, the air is mostly clear, but everything is coated in a fine, black powder... including everyone who has been exposed to it. It's like sand, it gets everywhere.
((OOC: Kick-off of the Dust and Riot plot detailed here. Please use the OOC post to ask any questions you may have.))

Fletch calls out, waving his arms to get his boss's attention. He's stood next to a prone kedan, stethoscope around his neck, and he looks pretty serious behind the cloth bandana strapped to his face to stop the Dust.
no subject
"Fletch?" When he catches her attention, Raine hastens over, staff in hand and eyes sharp as she bends to look at the kedan he's probably called her for.

"First Aid," she says in a moment, letting the glow of the spell sink into the kedan's ribs. It's a small drain, all told. "Is that enough for you?"
no subject
"Yeah, that's great. Thanks. I... Need someone to hold him down. This ain't gonna be pretty."
He's already picking up a sterile syringe, pushing the plunger in, and then selecting a scalpel.
no subject
"All right. Tell me if you need me to compensate for anything else."
no subject
"Give him a burst of healing, that'll keep him stable until he heals properly." Fletch mumbles, pulling away, dropping the scalpel and syringe into a bowl of sterile water at his side, stripping his gloves off.
"He got impaled on something, didn't realise until he got here."
no subject
Impaling is usually something a person notices. Though she supposes with adrenaline, and the not insignificant distraction of the Dust...
She sighs, pulls her staff toward her, and casts again, barely taking the space of a few seconds for another First aid. "There. That should hold, unless he does something foolish."
no subject
Regarding the kedan's prone and calm attitude now, he smiles a bit sheepishly.
"I may have given him a little something to stop him worsening the chest injury."
no subject
It has been a very special day.
"He'll need to be put somewhere to rest. Do we have open beds?"
no subject
"No, but there's a nice space in the corner over in the Emergency ward. He's not critical, so we can set him up with a blanket and a pillow and let 'im sleep it off."
no subject
no subject
He rocks back on his haunches, giving Raine a once-over.
"You holding up okay, boss?"
no subject
"As well as I can be," she says, after what's probably too long a pause. "We'll manage. I have a few gels in case I'm worn too far down, but I don't think I'll need to use any. And you?"
no subject
"Of course, we've never had to deal with widespread drug attacks."

He is, of course, joking.
