Catch-All for May
Characters: Danny Fenton and Anyone
Date: Throughout May
Location: Throughout Keeliai
Situation: Various
Warnings/Rating: pain, because Danny just found the local anti-supernatural flowers
1. With everything happening this month, Danny had decided to up the number of patrols he was doing. Throughout the evening and into the early hours of the night he can be spotted as a ghost, searching through the city for trouble. Or even someone who feels like talking to a ghost.
2. Unfortunately that meant that by the end of the month, the lack of sleep was starting to get to him. Even in the parts of the days he spent as his human self. Daily stops for coffee had become a necessary habit.
He yawns as he waits in line for his caffeine fix of the day.
3. For Adrien
Even more unfortunately, his nightly excursions had taken Danny out further than he usually traveled. Early one evening, late in the month, he stumbles across a patch of flowers growing wild.
They looked harmless. He'd intended to just pass by them, like every other plant he'd seen in Keeliai.
But as he steps close enough to notice their scent, his senses are suddenly overwhelmed with pain, like he was being electrocuted all over again. He screams.

But as he steps close enough to notice their scent, his senses are suddenly overwhelmed with pain, like he was being electrocuted all over again. He screams.
3.
Still, that screaming absolutely catches his attention, and he's racing off towards the source of it as quickly as he can. When he finally comes across Danny, he comes to a skidding stop.
"Danny? What happened?" he looks around, trying to find the cause of his friend's pain. "What's...happening?"
no subject
"It's the flowers!" he manages to get out.
no subject
Then again his weakness is feathers so he can't really say much here.
"Okay, hang tight, I'll get you out of here," he could probably cataclysm the entire lot of them, but that would go against his no living thing rule.
Instead, he crouches down, offering an arm.
"Can you walk at all, otherwise, I'll carry you."
no subject
"Just get me out of here." He grabs on to Chat's arm and tries to climb to his feet.
no subject
He extends his baton, using it as a level to help pull them up standing proper. He starts to head forward, but he keeps his eyes on Danny, too. If he shows any sign that he's struggling to move, he's carrying him.
no subject
Walking was a little beyond him at the moment.
no subject
"Okay, this is gonna be a little ungraceful, but just hang on, alright?"
And with that, he'll heft Danny up over his shoulders like a bag of potatoes. Sorry pal, sorry. He closes up the staff, putting it back before starting to run off away from the flowers as fast as he can.

"You still with me, buddy?"
no subject
"Yeah," he manages. "Put me down. I think I can walk now."
For a certain definition of walking.
no subject
"You want to go into the Healer's Guild? They might be able to see what caused it."
no subject
He shifts awkwardly.
"Besides, I'm pretty sure I know what happened. Those were probably anti-ghost flowers."
no subject
Chat gives him a sidelong glance, he's seen some weird stuff, but that's...really weird.
"Are those...actual things?"
no subject
no subject
"Nope. Nope. Don't even know why I get surprised any more. Nope."
no subject
Danny didn't think there was anything too weird with what he'd just said.
no subject
Which it was..kind of. Mostly. At least when it came to this subject.
"I'm just accepting I will never understand your world at all for as long as I live."
no subject
"Was there something weird about what I just said?"
no subject
no subject
He stops and frowns as he tries to count up all the times he'd gone through time.
"Do alternate dimensions count as time travel?"
no subject
He pauses, tilting his head.
"...Is it a big number?"
no subject
no subject
He frowns, it's not cool, that. He fights with his father a lot, but he never has to imagine his father trying to kill him all the damn time.
"Or was that just...a thing he did?"
no subject
This had been Danny's life for long enough that he didn't even think it strange to laugh about being shot at by his parents.
no subject
There's a pause.
"...You are way better adjusted than you strictly should be, you know that, right?"
no subject
Danny gives Chat a skeptical look. "Now you're sounding like my sister. SHe lectured my parents about that kind of thing all the time."
no subject
no subject
"I guess you can get used to anything. You know, my sister's complaints aside."
When he'd first started high school and run straight into the high school rumor mill, he'd desperately wished that his family was normal. Or at least didn't make a habit of causing death by parental embarrassment on a daily basis.
But considering what he was, normalcy was never going to be an option.
no subject
"It's kind of a big thing to get used to. I just...feel bad for you sometimes. It just sucks for you."
