Clark is still getting used to his vision returning to somewhat normal, now that the turtle is underwater. He hasn't been able to simply see in four years, and the lack of concentration necessary to focus is making him heady.

He also is taking the opportunity to walk with Jor-El, getting used to the teacher-pupil relationship they've put on easier than he thinks he could get used to the father-son relationship they actually have. He stops at a stall to admire the decaying curtain before quickly moving on to catch up with Jor-El the next stall over.
