And she lets him help her down once they're there, if only because she wants to keep holding his hand. Which she does, even once she's back firmly on the ground. She smiles at him, tugging him a little further away from Mrs. O'Leary. "Can't say I mind it all that much either."
It definitely helps now. Why didn't they try this more often, during all those months? Late realizations, apparently.
