Situation: Natalia comes to the clinic to give Dr. McCoy a demonstration of her abilities

More than one person had suggested that she volunteer at the clinic. Really, though, no one had to tell Natalia twice. There was so much outside of her control these days, but that just made it all the more imperative for her to become involved with what she could do.

Head held high, she stepped into the clinic. This was her first time here, but an onlooker wouldn't necessarily be able to know that just by looking at her demeanor.

"Excuse me," she said once she got the nearest person's attention. "I'm here to speak with Dr. McCoy."

The kedan nurse gave her a look that was almost like pity or bemusement, but she led the young woman to the doctor nonetheless. His office was always open for the staff or patients. Buried in paperwork for patients, experiments, and his own personal research, McCoy sat there for most of the day and most of the night as well with his friend the eternal coffee brewer at his side. Tentatively, he knocked on the doorframe to get his attention.

"Doctor McCoy, there's a Miss Natalia Luzu Kim...uhh... Vanladear? Well, she's here." After stumbling over that mouthful, she left as soon as she could as something "pressing" was waiting for her in the waiting room.

McCoy just waited the woman out patiently, letting her stew in her own embarrassment before turning his eyes on Natalia. "That's quite a name you've got there, Princess. Please--" He directed her with a hand to a chair in front of his desk. "Have a seat."

"Thank you," Natalia said with a polite nod, and she sat down. "And, yes, I suppose the hyphenated surname makes it rather long, but that's because my country came from the union of two kingdoms." It wouldn't be proper to be called anything else.

"Although," she added, "since my title means very little here in Keeliai, you're welcome to call me Natalia if you'd prefer that." Several people here started doing it on their own, so she figured it was only fair to extend the offer to everyone else.
