Well, that's actually quite interesting. Septimus just decides to drop the whole 'reborn' question, because it frankly makes zero sense to him. He'd rather not pry indelicately--like about how much one life remembers from others--or say something along the lines of that just sounding bizarre. He tries to have good manners!

He certainly thinks it, though.
