And while he's looking around at the roofs, he's on edge at all the damn people in his periphery. It's only because the kid admits to being lost himself that Joel decides not to question him on getting him somewhere higher.
Besides, the sooner the kid can tell him where the Earth sector is, maybe the sooner Joel can get to somewhere quieter where he can clear his head and try to figure out what the hell to do about looking for Ellie.
