The thief grinned at the matched posture before inclining his head as though to convey that he had no intention of attacking the Bostonian and was merely standing because the conversation was apparently finished. Costigan seemed adept enough at reading body language and Bakura used more of it than the average person realized; for that reason, he started for the opposite door first, allowing Costigan to follow or remain as he chose without having to show the thief his back.
