Skulduggery sees the hound first, and then the turtle.
It's a turtle about the size of the hound it's with, give or take, lumbering along the street at a pace only slightly faster than that of regular turtles, and otherwise acting a bit like a dog out on a walk. Except that instead of physically sniffing the objects and people it passes, it's reaching out with its mind. Psychically prodding. When it catches sight of Skulduggery, Skulduggery can actually feel its sudden joy, like he's a long-lost parent being reunited with a child.
Hawke comes into view behind the two animals. Skulduggery's fairly sure he doesn't need to introduce himself again, so he jumps right to the questions. "Where does the turtle come from?"
