Another voice caught Rex's attention, causing him to glance back over one shoulder. It was distant, but definitely there. Likely closer to the entrance.
"We're in here!" he shouted back as loudly as he was able. "Workshop area in back!"
Unfortunately, they were running out of time. With the building ablaze, the overall structure growing weaker by the minute. Slicing through a section of fallen beam, Rex was able to get part of it clear, enough to release one of the trapped kedan.
"Get out through the front," Rex instructed. "If someone's there, send them this way!"
As the kedan nodded and ran off, a chunk of ceiling overhead fell inward, barely missing him as it crashed to the floor. Rex brought his free arm up, shielding his face from the spray of embers and ash that blew back from the impact. As he turned back toward the remaining trapped kedan, however, the pile of rubble began to crumble. With only a second or two to make a decision and act, Rex traded the BFS buzz saw for the Smack Hands and got underneath the sliding supports as best he could, catching them and bracing his feet as best he could.
"Man, this sucks!" The heat and smoke were really starting to get to him, his teeth gritted as he tried to shift the pile further without it coming down.
