Characters: Septimus and Milyn
Date: April 26th
Location: Eshai Memorial Hospital
Situation: After the immediate bomb threat, Septimus and Milyn talk a little shop.
Warnings/Rating: None to speak of

It has been a long few days. Septimus is, quite frankly, near the end of his energy stores. But all things considered, it's been worth it: people are more or less safe, the direct threat seems more or less over, and injuries are being tended at a more reasonable and slightly less frantic pace.

It means a job at least adequately done, as far as he's concerned (and he wistfully thinks of his Tribune Medica and staff, and what was done to them, and how very much he wishes they were here with him in this moment).

With the network back up--however unnervingly--and despite that bizarre blackness on the palace--not an immediate concern, although he's mulling over it in the back of his head--Septimus has decided to take a short break.

In this case, 'break' happens to mean doing paperwork upstairs in a room. It's... not soothing, but a familiar part of command. And it is command again, to him: this is war. He knows how to handle that, albeit he is not used to playing Tribune Medica rather than, well, Captain. Still. He's a soldier, and this? This is familiar.

(The other advantage being he can look as weary as he chooses, behind closed doors where no one can see.

No one can see this exaustion. Septimus has been taught that all his life.)
