Rex noticed that Korra seemed distracted for a moment and he had to wonder just what she was thinking when it came to the subject at hand. Obviously, it was enough of a concern that she'd brought it up at all, but if she wasn't ready to voice whatever else was on her mind, he wasn't going to pry. She would tell him if or when she was ready, just as he would voice what else he had on his mind when the time was right.

"Haven't met Jim. Guess I'll have to fix that at some point. Both him and Mako sound like good guys."

As always, Rex was continuously on the look out for more people he could add to his "friends and allies" category, and given the similarities between himself and Korra, it seemed probable that people who got along with her might get along alright with him, as well. It also didn't hurt to know people she could vouch for as being reliable and trustworthy.

"You're lucky to have someone here from your world, too, I think. I know this is a rough situation and all, but it's always nice to have people you can depend on. You know, where you already know their track record, what they can do and that they can be trusted." He automatically thought back to Holiday and how he'd missed her by just a few weeks or so, but his mind also went to Six. More than he wanted to admit out loud, he missed his partner.
