[Tony stands there silently as Gene collapses crying onto the ground. Well, this is awkward. Is he supposed to, like, comfort him, or something? That would be sort of... weird, since Tony had been threatening to kill him just a second ago. Or at least seriously injure him by blasting him through a wall.
And yet Tony does feel bad for Gene. Just a little. He gave up the ring of his own free will, even though he's obviously devastated by the loss. And that's actually a pretty big deal. Gene's right: the old Gene, the one Tony remembers from the Makluan ship, would never have relinquished any of the rings.]
