It paved the way for a conversation, and it would hopefully teach Skulduggery something new about the plethora of alternate dimensions which apparently existed. Besides, it ruled out the possibility of anything else moving around in or manipulating the mist, and in a place like a forest that was stuck in eternal darkness, being properly alone was a good thing.
