Open + MEETING
Characters: Gaius Septimus, Hawke, Anton, and many others
Date: August 20th-21st-ish
Location: Turtle’s Head, later Anton’s Hotel
Situation: Septimus needs a little time to center himself. Then, there’s a Planning Meeting—after all, coups d’êtat require some serious logistics.
Warnings/Rating: Plottenings and plannings, potential language
A.
With everything going on, and a very large decision having been made… well, frankly, months ago, but only being acted on now, Septimus does eventually take a few hours out to visit the turtle’s head. It’s as much business as it is a chance to try to get his mind quiet for a short while, though; he has something to say to Asti. He doesn’t expect—or need—a reply, but catch him at the right time and he may be talking half to the air rather than just napping.
B.
Some part of Septimus is fidgeting; this is not his office, and it doesn’t feel right. But it’s a lot harder to track people wandering into Anton’s place than the hospital, and given that he slipped in under veil, there shouldn’t even be a way for outsiders to tell Septimus is here… He knows this is more secure. It still rankles a little, but he will not dwell on impossible luxuries of choice.
And, in fact, anyone who’s ever been in a meeting with him wouldn’t notice a difference; he’s as calm, collected, and businesslike as ever. Most of the faces he knows at least moderately; some he knows better than others. “Thank you for coming,” he tells the group. “We have a problem. Luckily, we also have a solution in the works.”
Most of the meeting is spent outlining the plan, discussing people’s strong suits, and figuring out where to station everyone in case backup is needed if (or rather, as Septimus suspects, when) things go very pear-shaped.
