S-sorry... [Ryou could sense Costigan's frustration, but the most he could manage was an apology and a sheepish smile as he rubbed his head.]

It crawled over my hand and startled me. [It was the truth, but Ryou didn't wait for a response, he just went ahead shooed the roach away with his foot and gathered the papers. With his work in hand he turned back to Costigan and headed out of the alleyway.]

Mission success! [...He really wanted to lighten the mood.]
