Since Bakura hadn't explained the secondary effect, all of Solomon's focus had been on the deterrent to attack. But in the khajbit the trap hadn't sprung until Solomon, even subconsciously, had wanted it to--which was surely what Bakura meant now, that even with the trap laid Solomon had to choose what it ought to counter.
