Skulduggery brought up one more face - one that, unbeknownst to him, looked eerily similar to the face he used to have before he died, like it should have belonged to a cousin or brother - and looked at Wreath. "You know, I was just wondering the same thing. Is there any magic you can still use, original or otherwise?" He glanced at Raine, silently putting the same question to her. "Odd, don't you think? None of the sigils at the Hotel worked."

And yet, the ones which controlled the magic of Skulduggery's false faces did. The most obvious reason for that was a different source to the Hotel's sigils. A different source which, to Skulduggery's knowledge, fueled a lot of individual magic on the turtle. That was... worrying.
