That would go a long way toward explaining the current hostilities, especially if the people felt that their so-called warriors were the ones assassinating their public leaders. He understood better than most how effective a steady rule could be; when a ruler's position was put under duress, the public was left without something with which to stabilize their lives around. Now Cain found himself rather curious about the true reasoning behind the Emperors' deaths and whether there might be some other way to bring the people under a different united front. "You've got that right, anyway. Look at what you did, now I'm not as pissed off at them anymore. Weird, huh?"
