Despite being the loud, obnoxious warrior that he was, Dante found it easier to relate to the old kedan. Those kedan were basically human- they doormats, yes, but they had lives, opinions, and business. Some were gangsters, but some were businessmen. But the new kedan? The bulk of them were openly swearing allegiance to some gang, and they basically said that might makes right, and they'll take whatever isn't nailed down. They were basically demons.
