[EVENT] A NEW WORLD ORDER
Characters: ALL!
Date: December 8, 2015 (with some starters for the following weeks)
Location: Keeliai, the Midnight Hotel, others
Situation: The Foreigners have awakened.
Warnings/Rating: Add warnings as needed.
They've been in the Dreaming for so long that when they wake up their bodies feel more like automatons, alien and ill-fitting. They haven’t atrophied, thanks to Milyn, but they’re stiff and a little bedsore, and the solidity of the Life Plane is jarring. Here, the surroundings don’t move on a whim. Here the world is more stable, almost harsh and unyielding in spite of the homey surrounds.
It’s been a year, says the clock on the mantle and on the second floor. Says Milyn, too, when she’s able to stop hugging them long enough to speak.
Nothing much has changed in the Midnight Hotel. There are dishes out of place, objects belonging to either Milyn or Eva in evidence, the diorama exactly where it had been but now brightly-painted thanks to Milyn's boredom. Milyn and Eva took a room each, in the time the Foreigners were sleeping, though neither used them much.
Eva’s upstairs, Milyn will tell anyone who asks. In her room.
Eva hasn't left that room in three days. She hasn't spoken in three days, either, or walked, or moved, or breathed. Her effects are neatly arranged around her bed, and the sheet has been pulled up. There is heavy incense in the room and Milyn has managed to preserve the body enough to remove the risk of too much mess (and other things). In a way, that makes it worse: as though Eva is sleeping. It’s difficult to tell whether Milyn is in denial or whether spending three days with no one to talk to other than sleeping Foreigners and a corpse has had its influence.

"Because the rest of the people are from here. I have no idea what got into them, but they aren't taking to outsiders the way they used to." Dante explained. "Though seriously, how the hell did you get here? Last I checked, the only person who knew how to summon folks here was dead."

"You've been gone, perhaps for awhile," Sonja reasoned. While it was obvious this man had more of a grasp on what was going on than herself (not difficult), his confusion gave her something to relate to, a common ground to build from. Being able to conclude something rather than ask more questions was very comforting.
"Who was this person who used to summon people here?" Sonja asked.

"Most of us were brought here to kill some bastard world-devouring demon before that." He kept explaining. "What was that chick's name? Evanadu? No, that was that asshole who ran the place. It was Eva-something."
After that inspiring account, he made his point. "Anyway, I have no idea what someone like you would turn up for. How long have you been here, anyway?"
no subject
"So what group in particular are you thinking of when you say 'someone like me'?" Sonja asked. Was this world populated entirely by men? Were people with glasses an outlier group?

Dante most definitely looked like a madman right now, and he felt that way too. Didn't there used to be resources for people who wound up in this city so they didn't have to hear it from folks like Dante?
"Anyway, it's like I said, you're not the first one to wind up here from somewhere else. There are others like you and me, who were pretty much kidnapped and then set loose. Only difference is that the rest of us came here with a purpose. You? Who knows?" He explained, apparently feeling the need to overact said explanation. Yep, definitely a lunatic.

Again, this wasn't so far-fetched. Abducting strangers to accomplish a goal was something she had done herself. Just because the answer wasn't clear to this man, doesn't mean whatever person abducted her didn't have other plans. Whoever did bring her here likely had a vested interest in keeping her here, so her best bet was to find where this person was. Failing that, a plane and some longitude/latitude markers could help her fly back to civilization.
"I'm headed for the city. Do you know where I might find a plane? And maybe a map?"
no subject
"I doubt these idiots have invented planes yet. You could ask, though. Maps should be pretty easy to find, there's apparently been some unwanted tourists lately."

Stop, Sonja told herself. You were brought here within a span of hours. There'll be a way back. You just need to find this Eva. But what if Eva wasn't the one who did it? What if Black Hole was behind this, and it was an attempt to get her out of the way for a fourth invasion? Sonja had a much harder time reasoning those thoughts away. Suddenly very anxious, a pale Sonja addressed the strange man once more.
"Well, this has been very-" Awkward? Unsettling? Confusing? "...pleasant, but I think I'll take my leave." She bowed slightly towards the man and started walking unevenly towards the city.
