While Tony's still getting his bearings, beside him, Gene stiffens and his breath catches. Is he awake now too? The tension in his body implies that he is, but his eyes are still closed. Maybe he's not moving for the same reason Tony isn't. Or maybe he doesn't want Tony to know he's awake. Maybe he doesn't want to face him, after what they've seen. Tony doesn't blame him. Not for that, anyway.
