Mechanically, Gene places the cup aside and opens his mouth to allow Milyn to swab. He feels empty. He feels dead. Somewhere in the back of his mind, he knows it's probably psychological shock. He'd known things would be bad. He just hadn't quite expected that they'd be this bad.
