Valdis flinched at the sound of breaking bone, and hesitated in her attack. Then another crack split the air and Valdis turned her head just in time to see the cabinet whose base she had destroyed start to come down. She had plenty of time to move, but it was a perfect excuse to halt her attack, so she ducked her head to protect it as the large cabinet came down on top of her.
