The inarticulate mumble was, well, pretty damn awesome. It was a wordless beg and apology all at once and did a lot to calm Jack down right there. If only more people were that reasonable. Jack had really made the right choice with this guy. He even let the Other Jack down and straightened his lapels for him.

"I'm not gonna kill him, princess," he said, and summoned a bright smile. "Might cut a few things off if he does it again, though." He lifted a finger and wagged it in front of Other Jack's face. "And that would be a pity." He dug in his pocket and handed Other Jack a handkerchief. "Here you go. You're too handsome to get blood all over yourself. You've gotta be more careful, there, Other Me."

And then he took a deep breath and let it out and realised, yeah, that was probably kind of a dick of him. "Sorry. That was douchey. My bad. Anyway."

And now he turned, and part of him was strangely reluctant even though he couldn't understand why, because it was Angel, his Angel, and she was all grown up and not even in her chair--

Not even in her chair.

"You're okay, princess?" he asked, and it was almost anxious the way he said it, while the way he held out his hands but didn't quite touch was almost hovery. "You're not--I mean, uh, you're okay, right?"

You haven't sent anyone across a galaxy since you've been here?

Yeah, that would go down well. Angel didn't even remember what happened with her mother, and Jack wasn't gonna tell her.
