Yunxu isn’t in attendance during the awards ceremonies. Neither is Meisheng (and the rumours of her pregnancy spread like wildfire during the party), but an actress who looks a lot like Meisheng has been hired to play her part. She’s the one who passes out the ribbons to the top three teams – purple for the winners, blue for 2nd place, and green for 3rd place. Periodically throughout the night, she and Lien’s actor will spontaneously break out into synchronised dance routines without warning, delighting some circles and annoying others.
In contrast to the competing team’s behaviour from The Mother’s Empty Nest, the kedan teams who worked on this crime are all more than happy to compare notes with each other. Two of the teams get particularly rowdy after drinks have been passed out, and they begin what eventually gets called a ‘Peanut War’, though it lacks any actual peanuts. It seems to consist of throwing small beads at each other -- ‘borrowed’ from one of the other cases, where the beads were used as fake currency.
There doesn’t seem to be an objective, or any rules, or even any semblance of structure whatsoever, but the Foreigners are more than welcome to join in!
