"Huh. That's not all that different than why we started Team Iron Man. At least later. It was kind of an accident at first, actually," Pepper recalls.

"Wait, wait, back up," she says, sitting up straight. "They took people's kaa and put them in tablets? But you said a person's ka is a reflection of them, it's like a piece of their soul. That's a horrible thing to do, why would they do that? What happened to the people, what happens if you lose your ka?"

Curiosity about Bakura's mysterious and apparently absent ka aside, that just sounds plain wrong. It's not as though Pepper can do anything about it, but it certainly gives her another peek into the world he was born in.
