It had been an accident. One of her students had lost their grip on a wooden practice blade during a spar with a comrade and it had hit one of the other kedan on the head. Accidents happened, but Valdis wasn't taking any chances and had ended the class early. Now she, along with the kedan's sparring partner, were carrying the half-conscious man to the Healer's Guild, taking the shortcut through the Hotel.
"It won't take long," Valdis murmured, half to herself and half to her students. She knew that head wounds bled a lot, but she was concerned about a concussion. "We're almost there."
