Situation: Valdis and 'Rue' have put together an All Hallows Eve Masquerade Ball.

The day has finally arrived and the morning and afternoon are spent putting together what will be the scene of the Masquerade Ball at the Courtyard of Public Opinion. Kedan can be seen coming and going, carrying in decorations and lights and later on, various foods and desserts. Valdis, and Rue can occasionally be glimpsed directing people and moving things around, but anyone not a part of the setup will be ushered on and discouraged from lingering.

As night falls, the Courtyard will be brightly lit and ready for guests...

Her escort had only taken as long as he had to make sure he looked perfect. Even with the mask he was a vain creature. His hair parted to one side but half spiked to fit with the mask.

He made his way to her side, silently at first. She surely knew he was not fond of crowds but, it was alright, it was for her. The violin was in his left hand, while he offered her his right as a gentlemen would be expected. "My apologies for my late arrival."

She smiled brightly, her eyes lighting up behind her mask. He looked sharp as always in his fine suit, but his rough edges seemed softer, his soul lighter, had been since she had given him the violin.

"I don't mind," she replied, gently resting her hand on his arm, "I'm just glad you came."

A smile was returned to her, lighter, he was never a smiley type after all, but her and Michaelangelo get to see them. "I gave my word, I will not disappoint. Though I must say, you've done a lot for this." He spoke, moving to lead them on in more. To see her handy work and to find somewhere to place the Violin until it as needed.

"It was worth it, I think," she said, following his lead, "To see everyone get together as if there are no differences and just enjoy themselves."

They walked down the purple carpet, pausing to wait in line to be announced.

"I agree, it is a wonderful idea." He spoke nodding to her as he waited in the line with her. He was a very patient man at least, he didn't mind the waiting. "How long did all of this take you?"

"A few days to plan," she said, looking ahead, "We only had today to actually set up, but we had plenty of help."

The line was moving along at a nice pace, it would only be a few moments before it was their turn.

"It is amazing what a crowd can get done with a bit of incentive." He admitted, offering her a mild smile. "Don't expect a dance." Graceful or not... "I can't dance."

"Well," she replied after giving their names to the kedan at the entrance, "I'm sure I'll have plenty of people to dance with, but if you change your mind, I'll save one for you."

"Lady Valdis and escort Vergil Sparda," said the announcer.

"Ready?," she asked, confidently stepping forward and gently pulling him with her, not particularly caring if he was or not.

"I will keep it in mind." He responded, as he straightened his posture to walk out with her once she asked. Playing the part of proper gentlemen with much practiced ease.

"Always." He responded as they walked. It was a nice change of pace. Being at a party with her rather than moping at home reading.

She smiled, but it was hard to not think of Dante right at this moment and the fact that she wished that she was on his arm instead of Vergil's. But she looked ahead, pushing away the sad thought in favor of the joyful atmosphere. Tonight was to celebrate the people of Keeliai, Foreigner and Kedan.

Vergil walked in time with her, every now and then his calm eyes would look over to her. It was a nice look of the place and they both clearly did well cleaning up. "Everyone looks happy, good." He muttered after a moment.

"They do, don't they."

The party was intoxicating, so much positivity int he air, enough to bring hers to match.

"Everything looks perfect."
