Situation: Valdis and 'Rue' have put together an All Hallows Eve Masquerade Ball.

The day has finally arrived and the morning and afternoon are spent putting together what will be the scene of the Masquerade Ball at the Courtyard of Public Opinion. Kedan can be seen coming and going, carrying in decorations and lights and later on, various foods and desserts. Valdis, and Rue can occasionally be glimpsed directing people and moving things around, but anyone not a part of the setup will be ushered on and discouraged from lingering.

As night falls, the Courtyard will be brightly lit and ready for guests...

"Yes." She said, looking around at the various party goers, the vibrant dresses and elaborate masks, "Your mask is nice, did Pepper pick it out?"

"She picked out the whole thing," he elaborated, nimble fingers of his free hand tracing the hieroglyphs at the sleeve cuff for a moment before settling once again. "I think she meant it as a birthday gift, but gave it to me for attendance here."

"It's a lovely and very thoughtful gift."

Pepper was probably good for Bakura, bringing out a sort of softness in the otherwise hard man.

And it didn't even come with a threat attached to it, he wants to say, although that much, he knows better not to.

"More than you realize," he replied instead. "It's very personalized."

Not just with his name in hieroglyphics, but Diabound's as well.

"Well," she said, putting down her drink, "I suppose I should continue my rounds, unless you care to dance?"

She's only half teasing, but completely expecting him to refuse. She knows what she needed to know, so there's no reason to continue bothering him.

"I'll pass, thank you," he said, mostly sure she wasn't mocking him. "I don't know how. Enjoy your party, khapshemet."

He was three thousand years old and he didn't know how to dance? What had he been...oh, right.

"I hope that you enjoy it as well," she said, smiling again before drifting off toward the crowd around the dance floor.
