Situation: Valdis and 'Rue' have put together an All Hallows Eve Masquerade Ball.

The day has finally arrived and the morning and afternoon are spent putting together what will be the scene of the Masquerade Ball at the Courtyard of Public Opinion. Kedan can be seen coming and going, carrying in decorations and lights and later on, various foods and desserts. Valdis, and Rue can occasionally be glimpsed directing people and moving things around, but anyone not a part of the setup will be ushered on and discouraged from lingering.

As night falls, the Courtyard will be brightly lit and ready for guests...

Tom's about to make a grab for a piece of cake when Tony takes the piece he'd been eyeing. Tom laughs, tossing the young man a look as he playfully scolds him.

"Slow down, there. I'd like to get a chance to eat some, too."

Tony looks up from his cake and grins. "Gotta move fast, old man," he teases. There's plenty more of that flavor of cake on offer, so he doesn't have to feel bad about taking that one slice.

"The refreshments table gets vicious at parties like this. I've seen people draw blood."

He's joking. Probably. Get enough rich people together, and things can get weird.

"I'm hardly surprised," Tom responds with a chuckle. "I've seen wars started for pettier things."

"I can't blame them. I'd fight someone for these sugar puff things." Tony piles a few more of the little puff pastry bites next to his cake. "The best part of parties is the food, anyway."
