As Bakura examines the glove she's wearing, Pepper extends her arm away from her somewhat, as if expecting it to explode at any moment. It doesn't, of course, which is encouraging. Until they figure out what's going on here she doesn't really want to take it off. What if she puts it back on again and it doesn't work?

She looks back up at the Knight when Bakura asks her an unexpected question. Pepper didn't realize they could talk, at least not in any language she could understand. The Knight turns her head slightly, as if considering whether to answer Bakura or divest him of one his limbs. After a few tense seconds pass:

Pepper jumps like she's been bitten because the Knight definitely spoke, but she also definitely did not move her lips when she did it.
