turn the page, I need to see something new [ catchall ]
WHO Casey Ramone / YOU
WHEN Through the month of March.
WHERE Some parts in Hatal, some in Keeliai.
WHAT Following through with some things, and exploring everything else new.
Hatal.
a; acclimatization.
Despite all of the cultural differences and things that didn't jive with what Casey felt at home with, the underground city of Hatal actually felt closer to home than Keeliai to them. It was the people, mostly, the variety and cohabitation and bringing together of their native cultures meshed into one thing entirely. The kin'al being some sort of sub-caste didn't sit well with them, but far be it from Casey to champion for two social revolutions at once; in that case, they made sure to be as kind and attentive as possible to the smaller race. It didn't make any sense not to.
Their explorations, however, led to a lot of different places. The Causeway was the frequent stop, with shops and culture and people, but Casey also found themself wandering down to the Reservoir level to observe the plants and growing techniques. That they might have ended up offering their own skill to see how it would interact with the processes already in place was only meant as a passing comment. Really!
b; experiment.
Emboldened by the night on the town several other Hotel residents had gotten up to, Casey decided to try something different. For the next couple of nights, they might be found wandering up and down the Causeway level in some cute little outfits just to see how they felt. It was an experiment more than anything, but Casey definitely owned anything they were wearing, comfortable in the clothes although maybe not so much in the reactions it might garner.
Those nights, Casey didn't wear makeup but their hair was done up and mussed around properly. This was not something new to them, simply something that had yet to become solidified, part of self-exploration. Just from looking at them, it would be obvious how freeing the experimentation itself truly was, what relief looked like on the shoulders of someone who was always under a tension no one knew was there.
flyers;
For all the people that had responded to their plea for helping with the rakenga, Casey almost didn't know where to start. Easiest thing to do was contact them all individually and see if they were ready to go up, or if there was any other prep or discussion they wanted to do first. If nothing else, Casey made sure they would meet near Hatal just to make the transition easier if they did decide to head out sooner rather than later.
Keeliai.
c; greenhouse.
It took long enough. Now that Casey had located the building specifically, they found themself a block away and pacing. This was something they wanted to do, well and truly, but the idea of going down and asking for permission to use the greenhouse — or trying to claim it in the name of foreigners should it still be abandoned — was presumptuous and nervewracking. They weren't the leader sort even if they didn't mind being someone to start an idea. Taking charge on this particular endeavor had just sort of happened, grown inexplicably from their initial idea of perhaps a small plot and space away from anything else.
Sighing, running both hands through their hair, Casey started mumbling all over again while they walked back and forth. "So, if maybe you would like, anything we successfully grow that has beneficial effects could go straight to your own use or whatever you'd like to do with it, we just want a hobby—really, Casey? Just want a hobby?"
