The rheaird's engine spins, an elegant tail of light rotating and humming softly with increasing speed as Raine goes. It's almost reminiscent of a Firefly.

As Pepper counts Raine flexes her fingers, adjusting her grip, and at three she takes off, accelerating with startling rapidity, the shielding of the rheaird keeping the worst of the forces from her. She matches Pepper at least at first, but it's evident as they proceed that the rheaird is better at pivoting than turning, and Pepper has significantly better agility.

All the same, Raine is herself grinning.
