Aya's scanners had detected the presence from the moment it first appeared within range. It meant nothing at first; there were always people running around the streets below and, sometimes, even the rooftops above. She would have continued on without a second thought, had a pattern not soon emerged.
The presence seemed to be...following her.
Unless it was a coincidence. Which is precisely why Aya allowed herself a moment of rest. Slowing her speed, she lowered onto one of the nearby rooftops, standing on the edge of a corner and staring out into the streets below.
If the presence had been following her, they would have no choice but to make themselves known. If the direction was mere coincidence after all...well...then no harm, no embarrassment.
