This is crazy. Even she knows this is probably stupid-- she's running around a whole city that she's barely familiar with just for an off chance that she'll find the guy. I mean, what if he was laying low on purpose? There could be a million reasons Cat Noir wasn't prowling around. So why was she so worried? It wasn't like her to jump into these kinds of things blindly but Poe's words had certainly given her a lot to think about. If it was her who might be in trouble, he'd do the same thing for her. So why was it even a question in her mind? It wasn't a matter of trusting him or not. Under normal circumstances she wouldn't question his ability. But these weren't normal circumstances and she needed to be certain.
...those words make her freeze up. The next second she's spinning around sharply, gasping softly.
There he was, same as she remembered him. And that didn't just go for that familiar smug look on his face. Instinctively there are so many comebacks she'd like to throw at him for that, but as soon as the thought is there, she's reeling it in. Instead, there's a moment where her face reflects her own deeply rooted relief and for a moment she lets herself pull him into a strong hug. However, it doesn't last long. Because she just can't get used to letting him see anything remotely like vulnerability out of her.
"There you are you... you--" She makes a frustrated noise in the back of her throat. "Do you have any idea how worried I was...?" The fact that she's going to let that stupid excuse for a greeting slide should say enough. But that doesn't mean she's done.
She reaches up and gives one of his cat ears a punishing tug. He earned it for making her worried in the first place. Finally she lets out a sigh. This whole time she'd been so tense. Even she's surprised. What had gotten into her? Why did it bother her so much? Like a lot of other things lately, she doesn't even begin to feel capable of tackling the answer to that question. Just... this was fine. He was fine. So... things would just naturally go back to normal. Right.
